Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital
Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.
Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, per reports from city officials.
At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.
Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.
Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.
A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.
Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
Local officials said the urban area came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and several individuals were injured.
The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.
The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.
Authorities told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.
Officials stated energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
